About CLAT 2025

CLAT is conducted annually for admission to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programs across 24 National Law Universities in India. The exam tests aptitude for legal studies through questions on English, Current Affairs, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria

For UG (5-Year LLB):
  • 10+2 passed or appearing with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST)
  • No age limit
  • Any stream (Science, Commerce, Arts)
For PG (1-Year LLM):
  • LLB degree with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST)
  • Final year LLB students can also apply

1. English Language (22-26 questions)

Comprehension passages, Grammar, Vocabulary

2. Current Affairs & GK (28-32 questions)

National & International affairs, Static GK, Legal GK

3. Legal Reasoning (35-39 questions)

Legal principles, Case scenarios, Application of law

4. Logical Reasoning (28-32 questions)

Analytical reasoning, Logical deductions, Arguments

5. Quantitative Techniques (13-17 questions)

Class 10 math, Data interpretation, Basic arithmetic

Key: CLAT is passage-based. All questions come from reading passages, not direct questions!
