Established in 2020, AIIMS Rajkot is one of the newest additions to India's network of premier medical institutes under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana. It operates from a temporary campus at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Medical College while its permanent 201-acre site in Bedipara develops. Academically, the institute offers 125 MBBS seats annually, following a curriculum that integrates rigorous clinical training from its first cohort. It has initiated postgraduate residency programs across core specialties like General Medicine and General Surgery, leveraging its 960-bed tertiary care hospital which provides services across 30 departments. The emerging permanent campus is designed to include a medical college, AYUSH block, nursing college, and extensive residential complexes. As a statutory institution, it functions autonomously, driving healthcare innovation and addressing specialist medical needs in the Saurashtra region.
